The clients wanted to renew their entrance courtyard replacing the old slippery and dangerous decking with a beautiful rustic solution.
Slate was the answer, the area was built up using natural stone retaining walls with brick edging separating the planting areas. Slate was laid across the space with additional steps added for easier access.

The clients were keen to make access on to the terrace easier, lower steps and wider treads facilitate this.
The main access is through the courtyard, the rustic slate brings texture and colour to the space whilst creating an easy clear route to the doors.
Natural stone risers contrast with the tones in the slate.
Reclaimed brick edging anchors the terrace into the surrounding space and brings an additional contrast colour to the space.
The delicate rust colours within the natural stone add to the overall effect.
