This small sunken area was adjacent to the Japanese gravel garden we had created a few years previously. the client wanted a simple reflection space in the same Japanese vein. Simple granite features matched with Japanese-styled planting made this a very successful job.

Dwarf Acers and Azaleas spread around upright sliver grey granite palisade stones
A curved granite bench creates a strong sense of space, guarded over by the palisade stones with moss like Sagina creeping below.
Palisade Stones reflected across the courtyard. Black grasses, Rhododendron and Dwarf Juniper.
The granite bench and palisade stones set the tone for the space as you approach the gateway
