Gravel, Natural Pond, Planting
This was a garden that Green and Gorgeous had previously planned and planted but had been left to go into decline. New clients wanted to restore and develop the planting, soften and alter the paving area and develop a natural wildlife pool within the space.
Green and Gorgeous designed the scheme to reflect the brief bringing depth and year round interest to the planting scheme creating a stunning back drop to the wildlife pond. Cobbles and natural stone edging with feature boulders help the pond to sit perfectly within the space. The old lawn was struggling and the clients wanted to move towards a gravel garden in its place. This extended round between the deeply planted beds to a pergola space in the corner to maximise on the shaded area of the garden. Open paving leads back to the main patio that was reduced to make way for more planting. A section of gravel planting cuts through the space adding further interest and foreground when enjoying the garden from the house.
Materials and planting bring texture and colour with subtle details throughout the garden.

Boulders, Cobbles and Pebbles create a perfect natural edge with marginal planting extending around the shelf of the pool. Metal edging defines the transition between cobbles and gravel and natural stone retains the planting beds to the rear.
